How To Stay Polished During Fall/Winter

As the temperatures are dropping and the days seem to get shorter and shorter, we all need something to give us an extra boost to get through the gloom, fall can bring. Three elements will make you feel as decadent as the riches of Paris runways despite having to get practical for the weather. And the classiest ladies have these down to a tee!

Take Care Of Your Hair

Crucial to the perfect rich fall look is great hair. Now, we don’t need to spend hours in front of the mirror in the dark, early mornings to create extravagant looks. It is all about soft, healthy, shiny and luscious hair! How to get hair like that? Good products!
  • Invest in a good shampoo that is suited for your type of hair and look for plenty of moisture this season.
  • Also, you need a conditioner. Preferably, one to detangle and a leave-in conditioner to protect against the elements.
  • Ask your hairstylist for advice on which products are good for your hair type and your specific style.
  • Say goodbye to static hair by investing in an ionic or ceramic hair dryer. It leaves hair shiny, and does not dry out your hair. Remember to coat your hair with something before you start to use your tools like silk oil for example.
If you have the right tools, it is easy to maintain gorgeous hair. It will not take you more time than usual and it’s an investment you will cherish and love any season.

Get Your Skin Glowing

My grandmother and mother always told me, the secret to beautiful skin is moisturizing, moisturizing, moisturizing. You will be happy when you have amazing skin at 50!
  • Choose a moisturizer that you love and benefits your skin. It does not need to be expensive, or very thick, just try out one that feels nice.
  • Hydrate after showering or before you go to bed. Focus on your facial skin a little extra too.
  • I know it feels good to splash warm on your face, but it dries out skin and doesn’t close pores. Because the weather is not that icy yet, focus on night recovery.
  • Opt for a richer night cream or a special serum to give your skin that boost. This way your regular day cream should still suffice for quite some time.
  • Another good option is using facial oil. It penetrates the skin on a deep level and thus is very beneficial.
  • Don’t forget about your neck! This is one of the things that tells age and care more than anything. That and….hands!

Soft Hands All The Time

Your hands are the first that show signs of the weather change, your cuticles get drier, your skins feels tight. Keep your hands moisturized, because it is completely unfashionable to have bad nails.
  • Buy a good hand cream and schmear it on, all day, everyday! This is just a matter of trying different ones until you find the one that you love. Your nails and cuticles will look so much better and make your manicure look perfect.
  • Your manicure is also a great way to show colour this fall! Use a good base coat and good topcoat for long lasting colour. Don’t forget: colour two coats, see-through one coat. Make sure you keep your nails short when keeping them natural.
  • Keep toenails nice and groomed, and moisturize when you’re doing the rest of your body! Gold is the perfect colour for star quality toes this fall!
Spending this time will reflect not only in your look, anything you wear, but how you carry yourself! Fall is about elegance, luxury and richness. Feeling good is the best start you can have to rocking some killer heels or a dramatic cape. Remember, the devil is in the details! Oh, and play some good music in your mind while you’re strutting down the streets this fall!
