Robert Pattinson on Fifty Shades of Grey: I Would Lick the Pages!

Robert Pattinson weighed in on the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon today at Comic-Con ... with an obvious reference to the erotic novel's sexiness.
When questioned during the Breaking Dawn: Part 2 panel, he and Kristen Stewart were mum on whether or not they've read the sex-filled bestseller.
If presented with a copy, however, he knows just what he would do.

"I would just sit there and lick the pages," Pattinson said in San Diego, adding, "What are we live on?" realizing his response would gain attention.
Stewart on the other hand, was less upbeat about the topic.
When asked if she reads the novel in a book club with Pattinson and fellow Twilight star Taylor Lautner, she said simply, "That would be disgusting."
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been mentioned as possible leads in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, however unlikely that may seem.
The risque text is loosely based on their Twilight characters; Pattinson and Stewart have also been dating in real life for several years at this point.
While no mention of the pair's off-screen romance came into question today, R-Patt did address the topic of smooching his on- and off-screen love.
"She always just kissed me and I'd always be like ..." Pattinson said, holding up his head and puckering his lips, while referring to winning best kiss with Stewart in Breaking Dawn: Part 1 at the recent MTV Movie Awards.
"I just receive ... I just receive pecks."
Good to know, R-Patt. Good to know.

Tom Cruise attorney threatens National Enquirer with lawsuit

Thu, Jul 12, 2012

REUTERS - Tom Cruise's attorney has threatened the parent company of the National Enquirer with a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over a new issue asserting it has details of the actor's recent split with wife Katie Holmes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter on its website posted a letter from Cruise's Los Angeles attorney, Bert Fields, in which he blasts American Media Inc, parent of the Enquirer, for what he calls "false and vicious lies" he says will cause "hundreds of millions of dollars" in damages to Cruise.
"As you were notified in advance, your current issue of National Enquirer makes numerous false and defamatory assertions about our client Tom Cruise," the three-page letter begins.
The letter draws attention to disparaging descriptions of Cruise in the Enquirer's issue that hit newsstands on Wednesday, with Fields writing, "These are all lies - vicious, hurtful, damaging lies."
Fields did not respond to Reuters' requests for comment late on Wednesday and a representative for American Media could not be reached.
Cruise and Holmes have been the subject of hundreds of headlines worldwide since she filed for divorce from the "Mission: Impossible" movie star two weeks ago, seeking sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Suri.
Earlier this week, the couple agreed to a divorce and custody arrangement, but details were undisclosed. Both have remained publicly silent about the issue, except for one joint statement in which they said they were working together to settle their differences in the best interest of Suri.
Speculation about a reason for the split has centered on Cruise's membership in the Church of Scientology, but that has never been confirmed by either the couple or their representatives.

How Katie Holmes outwitted Tom Cruise: the roundup

The way Katie Holmes carefully plotted her split from Tom Cruise could easily be a Hollywood thriller. The actress “surprised” her husband with a phone call asking for a divorce while he was thousands of miles away in Iceland, shooting his upcoming sci-fi flick "Oblivion," on June 29, then she managed to wrestle away custody of Suri, 6, from him just 11 days later. A report released on Tuesday details just how she went about her secret plan – she used a disposable cell phone.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a friend of Holmes provided her with the throwaway device so she could talk to her New York City-based lawyers without Cruise, 50, or his people knowing what she was up to. Now, yet another report, a People magazine story released on Wednesday, divulges further details on how Holmes caught her husband of five years off guard by meticulously plotting her divorce plans ahead of time, even reaching out to her parents for help. According to the report, Tom Cruise was about to start shooting an action-packed scene on the set in Iceland when he answered an unexpected call from Holmes. “He was about to do a stunt and got off his motorcycle to take the call,”  a source tells People. It was during that conversation that Holmes broke the news. “He’s been in shock since that day,” the source adds.
Katie, Suri, and her mother Kathleen enjoyed a day at Chelsea Piers on Tuesday. (Jackson Lee/Splash News)The Los Angeles Times also reports that when Holmes, 33, and Cruise settled their divorce on Monday, she already had three law firms in three different states set up in case she’d have to battle her soon-to-be ex outside of Manhattan, where she filed. The “Mission: Impossible” star initially wanted to hash out their divorce in California, which typically favors divorcing parents to have joint custody of their children (Holmes had requested sole custody of Suri in her filing). It turns out one of the toughest attorneys Holmes had on her side was reportedly her own father. “It’s his way or the highway,” a fellow attorney tells People of Martin Holmes, 67, a top divorce lawyer in Toledo, Ohio, who helped lay out Holmes' strategy for the split. “He’ll look a storm in the eye and make sure he’s standing when it’s over,” adds former mayor Carty Finkbeiner.

Holmes' dad arrived in New York to be with his daughter around June 26, two days before she made the call to Cruise. (Whether the actor knew the elder Holmes was in New York at the time remains to be seen). Katie's mom, Kathleen, has also since traveled to the Big Apple and was most recently spotted accompanying her daughter and granddaughter on an outing to the Manhattan athletic complex Chelsea Piers on Tuesday.
As part of the settlement, Holmes will have total control over Suri’s education. And, in a move that is a definite slap in the actor’s face, Holmes – who renounced her Catholic upbringing for Scientology when she married Cruise in 2006 – has registered as a parishioner at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York City not far from her Chelsea apartment. That presumably means she'll be taking Suri along with her to Mass. “Everyone is thrilled to have Katie join us,” a member of the church's choir told The Huffington Post on Monday. “She has not yet attended a service, but when she does she will be welcomed with open arms.”
